MN TRIO Community Mourns the Loss of an Advocate
Ron McKinley was a founding member of Mid- America Association of Educational Opportunity Program Personnel (MAEOPP) and the first President of Minnesota's Professional Trio Association. He has been a tireless advocate of TRiO and Educational Opportunity Programs. He will be greatly missed by his friends in the TRiO Community.
In lieu of flowers, Ron’s family has requested that donations be made in his honor to one or more of the following: the Ronald McKinley Scholarship Fund at the MN TRiO Association (mntrio.org), the Fund of the Sacred Circle at the Headwaters Foundation – (www.headwatersfoundation.org), or the Mixed Blood Theater (mixedblood.com).
You may contribute to his MN TRIO scholarship here.

Peggy Larkin, a successful TRIO student, currently volunteers at Home Free Battered women's shelter as an advocate and is raising her two daughters. She attributes her success to the TRIO Programs. "Without TRIO, I know I would still be living in poverty - TRIO helped me and I am forever grateful!"
(Since this story was written, Peggy has graduated from law school and passed her bar exams.)

A Greater Opportunity to Learn.
Minnesota TRiO feels every individual deserves equal access to post secondary education.. Access to colleges and universities is denied to many. We believe, however, that everyone has the right to learn. To discover who they are. To develop critical skills used to build a successful career. At Minnesota TRiO, we are helping students and families afford post-secondary education and creating a greater opportunity to learn.
