MN TRiO FutureWorks Media
ITEMS DISCUSSED
1. Media Contact List (Marnie will update)
2. Facebook (Jessica and Martin)
3. Branding
‑ It is very difficult to sum up what we do in a few short sentences.
a. Initial language in promotion needs to change: TRiO should be 1st identity, individual programs 2nd
b. Needs consistency among program names
c. Marketing should be done to all TRiO professionals not just members and Directors
Tag line: TRiO ‑ Educational opportunity and success since 1965 or Promoting educational opportunity since 1965
TRiO programs are federally funded to work with low‑income, first generation (and disabled) students to promote/provide educational opportunity and success. TRiO programs have been hosted at public and private colleges throughout the nation since 1965.
Colors of TRiO should also be consistent throughout the website.
4. Newsletter Articles (Lindsey, Marnie and Marcia)
‑ Will work on tweaking the website to make more user friendly. Would like to add a few more side links (Student spotlight and TRiO in the News sections). This committee will work on putting together a timeline agenda for each program to submit materials to them. An email to each program Director will be sent detailing the specifics about what the committee wants from them and when they would like to receive it). This committee (sub) will work on the specific time line/due datef or each institution.
5. 25 Years in TRiO (MK, Jessica, Ryan, Dan, and Martha)
‑ Will check with the Communication/Marketing department at their specific institutions to find out if they can recommend someone (can be student or professional) to put the TRiO publication together (or if they are willing to help themselves). We are hoping that this individual(s) will possess some graphic design experience, and would beable to produce another quality piece of work. DEADLINE: Monday, December 14
a. The lead for assembling the 25 Years in TRiO publication will depend on which institution the graphic design person comes from. If he or she is at ARCC, then Ryan will be lead. If the individual is at Augsburg or MCTC, I will take the lead for assembly, etc.
b. Jessica, Ryan, MK and myself will be following up withindividuals from each of the work groups (School‑Community, Institutions, Foundations and Legislative) to gather the necessaryinformation needed for the publication (I think you all know your responsibilities).
DEADLINE: Thursday, December 31 (for this information to be received)
c. Katie and Lisa will submit their information to this committee by the first week in January.
d. Assembling the information should begin around the 2nd or 3rd week of January, with a goal to have a draft/partially completed version by beginning of February. The committee will forward all drafts to President Horvat and MN TRiO board before printing final version.
